Last August, after residents of Custer County found out that the Custer County Commissioners voted that they would all be receiving mail-in ballots for the (then) upcoming presidential election, several citizens who believed such systems were too subject to fraudulent acts started this website and its adjoining Facebook page. The same citizens put out a notice regarding the SECOND meeting of the Custer County Commissioners regarding the vote that caused this mail-in change to our election process to occur – and a possible revote. This was done in hopes of getting citizens to attend the meeting. The second meeting was standing room only as citizens crammed in the room to voice their negative opinions about the mail-in vote.
During the meeting, one of the Custer County Commissioners stated that he had received numerous calls and emails from Custer County citizens demanding mail-in voting. It was further stated that many more citizens wanted mail-in voting than did not want it. This was stated despite the fact that everyone in the crowded room was adamantly against mail-in voting. Many citizens stood up and said so. At the conclusion of the final meeting the Custer County Commissioners voted again – and again went with the mail-in option. So, we decided to run a survey with only two questions on it. The details and graphed results are below.
